C.W. Brabender Extruder

The extruder functions as the centerpiece of the processing operation. Unique capabilities and services have been developed at the Center by using the extrusion process in creative ways. Technicians utilize a variety of accessories and tandem systems to improve processes or develop new ones.

Batch Reactor
Reactors

Batch reactors (240 mL, 600 mL, and 8L) are available to conduct reactions at elevated temperatures and pressures. A 500-gallon jacketed kettle is used for batch reactions at lower temperatures and at atmospheric pressures.

Instron Testing Machine
Instron Testing Machine

This computer-controlled universal testing machine is available for measuring mechanical properties of materials. A variety of load cell sensitivities and sample-holding fixtures add to its capabilities.
